My Story

Art has always been there for me through life’s big moments. When I moved to Canada in 2024, I found myself returning to painting with renewed energy — searching for my own style and visual voice. Alongside my studio practice, I began organizing group art sessions in North Bay, helping others explore their creativity and discover the joy of painting.

Chronology

2011

I joined a small local art classes based in a music school basement. With only seven students, it felt like a close creative community. This was the moment when art became my true passion. I often stayed beyond class hours, eager to finish one work and start another.

2012–2017

As a teenager, art became both my strength and my vulnerability. I entered Dnipro Art College, where I studied academic painting and explored Ukrainian folk art, especially Petrykivka painting. I thrived in my studies, often moving ahead of the program.

2018-2021

A turning point. Personal struggles led me to leave art school and study marketing at university. University years and the COVID-19 lockdowns. Isolated in my room, I occasionally returned to painting but also discovered new ways to create — through photography and video. Every walk outdoors felt like research and exploration. Yet art never left me.
“I remember riding the bus to university, looking at buses window at the sky and trees, imagining layers of paint overlapping. It was like I creating a painting in my head. I especially loved autumn.”

2022

February 24, 2022 — the day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. My life split into before and after. On that day, I had only art and my dog by my side.
“In those moments of fear and decision-making, brushes were always in my hands.”

2023

A year of new meanings. Despite blackouts in Ukraine and instability, motherhood became the light of this period. During pregnancy, I returned to painting regularly, working on private collections and even creating art on war relics. These works raised over 70,000 UAH at a charity auction for the Ukrainian army. I learned how powerful art can be.

2024

Relocation to Canada. I moved to North Bay, Ontario — a mix of fear and excitement. Thanks to the supportive people around me, I found new inspiration. I began experimenting with my style and received my first few commissions. That same year, I held my first painting workshop in collaboration with a local organization.
"I realized that my art matters — my knowledge can be useful. I felt a calling to share it and to support the growth of the community."

2025

This year gave me the drive not only to create art but also to help others unlock their creativity. Alongside exhibitions and events, I organized and led art workshops in North Bay, building a stronger local art community and developing collaborative projects. The journey continues…

What Inspires Me

For me, art is a language of energy and emotions. I love capturing the beauty hidden in everyday life, creating scenes that feel both familiar and a little imagined. My work often balances realism with abstraction, always aiming for that fine line between elegance and spontaneity.
